(a) The annual license fee to practice the business of stock and securities broker, or broker other than pawnbroker, by buying and selling for others stocks, securities, or property, for commission, compensation or reward shall be fifty dollars ($50.00).
(b) The annual license fee to practice the business of real estate broker shall be ten dollars ($10.00). The annual license fee to practice the business of real estate salesman shall be five dollars ($5.00). "Real estate broker" shall include all persons, partnerships, associations, and corporations who for a fee, commission, or compensation or who with the intention or expectation of receiving or collecting such fee, commission, or compensation; lists, sells, purchases, exchanges, rents, manages, leases, auctions, negotiates, attempts to negotiate, or assists in the procuring of a purchaser of real estate.
(c) "Real estate salesman" means and includes any person employed or engaged by a licensed real estate broker to do or deal in any activity listed in this section; for a fee, commission or compensation.
(d) Neither the term "Real estate broker" nor "real estate salesman" shall be held to include any person, partnership, association, or corporation, who, as a bonafide owner or lessor, shall perform any aforementioned act.
(e) This section shall not apply to licensed practicing attorneys who, in the normal course of their profession, are acting in behalf of clients or real estate brokers or salesmen who do not have an office located within the Municipality. (Passed 7-5-78.)
