151.04 HOLIDAYS.
   (a)   Designation of legal holidays shall be the same as the State of West Virginia. The Mayor may grant additional holidays.
   (b)   When any holiday falls on a Saturday, then the preceding Friday shall be regarded as such legal holiday. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, then the succeeding Monday shall be treated as such holiday.
   (c)   Salaried employees who are scheduled off on holidays will be compensated for 8 hours straight time which will count towards their forty (40) hour work week, including police officers.
   (d)   When a salaried employee is required to work on a holiday they will be compensated an extra 1 ½ times their hourly rate for all hours worked on the holiday. This hourly rate is based on the salary employee yearly earnings divided by 2080 hours.
   (e)   Full-time hourly employees are scheduled off all holidays. They will be compensated 8 hours pay at their hourly rate. Theses 8 hours count towards a forty (40) hour work week. When a full-time hourly employee is required to work on a holiday, they will be compensated an extra 1 ½ times their hourly rate for all hours worked on the holiday.
   (f)   The Police Chief normal work schedule is Monday thru Friday. He can be scheduled to work holidays and weekends if he desires and is needed. When a holiday falls on any day Monday thru Friday, normal work days for the Police Chief, and he is required to work, he will be compensated his normal salary plus 1 ½ times his rate of pay for all hours worked on the holiday. If he does not work the holiday he will receive 8 hours straight time which will count towards his forty (40) hour work week.

   (g)   Any hourly or salary employee who has not worked the day before and the day after a holiday does not get paid for that holiday.
