When any vacancy occurs on the Board of Park Commissioners by reason of death, resignation, change of residence from the Town, or from any other cause, the remaining members or member of the Board shall appoint a successor or successors, subject to the approval of the Mayor, or if there should be no member left on the Board, the Mayor shall appoint such successors to serve until the expiration of the appointed term or terms, as the case may be.
