Members of the Police Department shall have the power and authority to carry a service pistol while on duty unless otherwise expressly directed by the Chief of Police for a special assessment. All sworn law enforcement officers of the Police Department shall carry a badge, state issued identification and firearm when acting on behalf of the Police Department or anytime carrying a firearm on or off duty.
