(a) All police equipment and vehicles will be used for official police business and Municipal business at the direction of the Chief of Police and/or Council. Police vehicles will not be used for personal business. Only police officers will operate police vehicles. The Chief of Police may authorize a Municipal official to operate a police vehicle for Municipal business.
(b) No person, including Municipal officials shall use police equipment and vehicles in violation of this section, and upon conviction shall be subject to a fine of not more than fifty dollars ($50.00). Each violation shall constitute a separate offense.
