(a) The Chief of Police with the Police Committee and Mayor will interview, test and investigate all prospective police officers and recommend to Council who should be employed. The Mayor, subject to the approval of Council, will appoint all police officers except the Chief of Police.
(b) All members of the Police Department, before entering upon the discharge of their duties, shall take and subscribe to an oath which shall be in the form and effect as follows:
State of West Virginia
City of Paden City, to-wit:
I, , do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the State of West Virginia, and the Municipal Code of the City of Paden City, and I will honestly and faithfully perform the duties imposed upon me under the provisions of law as a member of the Paden City Police Department, to the best of my skill and judgment.
(c) All such oaths shall be filed and preserved in the office of the City Recorder.
