A. Definition: For purposes of this chapter, the definition of the term "fireworks" shall be the same definition as set out in the provisions of Iowa Code section 727.2, as amended.
B. Sale Or Use Prohibited: Except as hereinafter provided, it shall be unlawful for any person to offer for sale, expose for sale, sell at retail, or use or explode any "fireworks", as above defined, within the city limits.
C. Pyrotechnic Display; Council Permission Required: In the event any person or organization desires to give a pyrotechnic display of fireworks, said person or organizations shall, at least thirty (30) days before the date set for such display, make application to the city council setting forth the nature of the display, the place where said display will be produced and the time and date of such display. If, in the judgment of the council, said display will not be a fire hazard, it may issue a permit for said display subject to such regulations as it may deem advisable.
