9-2-4: PERMIT AND INSURANCE FOR MOVING BUILDINGS:
Before actually moving any house or other structure on any public alley, avenue, street or public place, the mover will first obtain a permit from the mayor and the permit holder must have on file with the city clerk, or the mayor, a certificate of insurance protecting the permit holder and the city, and its officials, providing for minimum coverage of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) for any property damage and five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00) for any injury to one person, which policy may be a blanket public liability policy covering all house moving by the permit holder, or the particular move for which the permit has been sought. A permit shall not be issued until the mayor has approved the moving of the building, as well as prescribing the routing to be used. (Ord. 15, 7-21-1970; amd. 2015 Code)
