§ 34.01 ESTABLISHED.
   The Board of Selectmen shall be authorized to establish a Police Department under the resident state policemen, per Conn. Gen. Stat. § 29-5, as amended, for the town and to hire officers for the Department and to establish rules, regulations and policies for the operation of the Police Department.
