There shall be a Board of Library Directors consisting of the Town Treasurer, ex officio, and six Directors appointed as hereinafter provided. On or before December 1, 1951, the Board of Selectmen shall appoint six Directors, each to serve until the biennial meeting to be held in and for the town in 1953, and at the biennial meeting two Directors shall be elected by ballot to hold office until the next biennial meeting; two until the second biennial meeting; and two until the third biennial meeting; and at all biennial meetings of the town thereafter, one-third of the Directors shall be elected to hold office for six years. Any vacancy in the Board, from any cause other than the expiration of a term, shall be filled for the remainder of the term by appointment by the remaining Directors, with the approval of the Board of Selectmen.
