(A) The Commission shall consist of seven members and two alternate members appointed by the Board of Selectmen of the town. Each member shall serve for a term of five years. Any vacancy in the membership of the Commission shall be filled for the remainder of the term by one of the appointed alternates. The term of appointed members shall not exceed five years and shall be so fixed that the term of approximately one-fifth of the appointed members shall expire each year. Commission members shall serve without compensation and necessary expenses shall be reimbursed from the Economic Development Commission budget.
(B) All incumbent members of the existing Commission shall continue to serve out their terms at the time of this subchapter.
