§ 93.02 CONSTRUCTION OF DOMESTIC APPLIANCES.
   (A)   On and after July 14, 1952, every new gas appliance and its accessories designed for domestic use sold in the town shall be of a type complying with applicable American Standard Approval or Listing Requirements covering safe operation and acceptable performance. This compliance may be determined by the presence on the appliance or its accessories of a label of a nationally recognized testing agency (such as the American Gas Association, Inc., Laboratories) qualified and equipped to perform the tests necessary to determine compliance and maintaining an adequate periodic inspection of current production models, and whose label on the appliance or its accessories states that it complies with nationally recognized safety requirements. This compliance may also be determined by the listing of the appliance or its accessories in a list published by a nationally recognized testing agency (such as the American Gas Association, Inc., Laboratories and Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.) which states that the appliance or its accessories complies with national safety requirements. In cases where no applicable American Standard Approval or Listing Requirements have been developed for a given class of appliance or its accessories, approval of Planning and Zoning Commission shall be obtained before the appliance or its accessories is sold.
   (B)   On and after July 14, 1952, every used gas appliance and its accessories designed for domestic use sold in the town shall be in good operating condition and of a type which will ensure safe operation.
   (C)   If the installation requirements which follow require that an appliance be vent connected, no appliance shall be sold or installed unless it is constructed with a flue collar.
   (D)   Any appliance that was originally manufactured for operation with one type of gaseous fuel and is in good condition may be used with another type of gaseous fuel only after it is properly converted for safe performance with the other type of gaseous fuel before the appliance is placed in use.
