(A) In accordance with the provisions of Conn. Gen. Stat. §§ 7-184 et seq., 8-1 to 8-13, 8-18 to 8-30f, 20-418 et seq., 22a-90 et seq. and 22a-314 et seq., as amended, the town hereby adopts the following stormwater management regulations for the following purposes: to protect, maintain and enhance the public health, safety and general welfare by establishing minimum requirements and procedures to control the adverse impacts associated with post-construction stormwater runoff.
(B) Proper management of stormwater runoff will minimize damage to public and private property, reduce the effects of development on land and wetlands, control stream channel erosion, reduce local flooding, improve water quality and maintain after development, as nearly as possible, the pre-development runoff characteristics.
