§ 51.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   MUNICIPAL RECYCLING CENTER. Any recycling drop off facility, area or areas as designated by the Board of Selectmen.
   MUNICIPALLY REGISTERED HAULER. Any person licensed under the provisions of this chapter to collect recyclable items within the town.
   PERSON. Any individual, corporation, partnership, association or other entity or organization, either public or private, of any kind.
   RECYCLABLE ITEMS. Includes the following items as may be further defined by the State Department of Environmental Protection:
      (1)   Cardboard;
      (2)   Glass, food and beverage containers;
      (3)   Leaves;
      (4)   Metal food and beverage containers;
      (5)   Newspapers;
      (6)   White office paper;
      (7)   Scrap metal;
      (8)   Storage batteries;
      (9)   Waste oil; and
      (10)   Any other items which may hereafter be mandated by the Department of Environmental Protection or Board of Selectmen.
   RECYCLING COORDINATOR. The person charged with coordination of this recycling chapter in accordance with § 51.05 hereof.
   RECYCLING ENFORCEMENT AGENT. The person charged with coordination of this recycling chapter in accordance with § 51.05 hereof.
   REFUSE PROCESSING FACILITY. Any facility designed for the processing of solid waste, other than recyclable items.
   SOLID WASTE. Unwanted or discarded materials as defined in Conn. Gen. Stat. § 22a-260(7), excluding semi-solid or liquid materials collected and treated in a sewage system.
   SOLID WASTE COLLECTOR. Any person engaged in the business of collecting and transporting solid waste, other than recyclable items.
