The Streets and Maintenance Division shall be administered by a Streets and Maintenance Manager appointed by the City Manager, who shall be responsible to the Service Director for all work having to do with the construction, maintenance and repair of public streets, alleys and public places, and the maintenance and operation of all public buildings, parks and other public properties, except those under the supervision of the Safety Department. The Streets and Maintenance Manager shall be responsible for the maintenance, operation and repair of the storm sewer system of the City and shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed by ordinance or required by the Service Director. The Streets and Maintenance Manager shall exercise supervision over all equipment operators, laborers and such other employees or assistants as are authorized by Council and the City Manager.
