Certain words as used in this chapter are defined as follows:
(a) "Coin-operated device" means and includes a machine, device or instrument which, upon the insertion of a coin, token or slug, operates or may be operated: for use as a game, contest of skill or amusement of any description; for use in selling cigarettes, beverages, candy or any other item of personal property; for use in producing, reproducing or playing of any musical or vocal tones; or for use in furnishing any service, including but not limited to, washing, cleaning, drying, laundering or dry-cleaning of clothes or other materials; provided that "coin-operated device" does not include a machine, device or instrument which operates by the use of one one-cent (1¢) coin or which merely furnishes change in coins or currency equalling the total of coins or currency deposited.
(b) "Owner" means any person, firm or corporation having title to any coin-operated device or which sells, leases, rents or otherwise distributes coin-operated devices on behalf of the person having title thereto.
(c) "Exhibitor" means any person owning and exhibiting or contracting or permitting a coin-operated device to be installed, used or exhibited in his own place of business or other establishment regardless of the ownership of such device.
