2-3-3: MEMBERSHIP:
The committee shall consist of not fewer than twenty (20) members and not more than sixty (60) members. All members shall be appointed by the board of commissioners in accordance with the following provisions:
   A.    Initial Appointments; Term: As to the members initially appointed subsequent to enactment hereof, one-half (1/2) of the members shall be appointed to serve a two (2) year term.
   B.    Subsequent Appointments; Terms: As to the members appointed subsequent to the initial appointment, they shall be alternately appointed to three (3) and two (2) year terms, so that as far as practicable, the membership maintains continuity of membership in proportion to the one-half (1/2) formula established by subsection A of this section.
   C.    Eligibility For Membership: Eligibility for membership shall be involvement in, and interest in, and expertise in the various multiple uses of the federally and state managed lands and the custom, culture, and economic stability of the county. The board shall select members for appointment from a list maintained by the clerk of the board which contains the following:
      1.    The names of persons who, in writing, have requested appointment and stated their involvement in, interest in, and expertise in the multiple uses, customs, culture, and economic stability of the county; and
      2.    The names of persons recommended for membership by the committee with a written statement of their involvement in, interest in, and expertise of the persons in the multiple uses, customs, culture and economic stability of the county.
   D.    Resignation Or Removal; Replacement: Upon receipt by the board of a written resignation by a member of the committee, or of a written recommendation by the committee that a member be removed because of failure to participate in committee business and activities, the board shall remove the member's name from the committee and shall appoint a replacement for the remainder of the term being served by the member removed. Such appointments shall be made in accordance with the procedure established in subsection C of this section. (Ord. 09-09, 10-6-2009)
