§ 36.30 QUALIFICATIONS; PROBATIONARY PERIOD.
   (A)   Any person of good moral character and standing and at least 18 years of age shall be eligible for membership in the Volunteer Fire Department upon acceptance by a vote of at least two-thirds of the members with a minimum of 12 members present.
   (B)   Any accepted applicant shall serve as an apprentice for a period of six months and shall be issued a uniform upon completion of his 50 hours of training, if a uniform is available.
   (C)   During the apprenticeship period, each applicant shall attend drills and respond to fire alarms but will not be allowed to actually participate in any emergency response unless for the purpose of watching and learning only, until it has been verified that he has accumulated at least 50 hours of certified training. After this period, this individual may actively participate in all emergency functions of the Department as appointed. His assistance and normal duties at the fire station will be utilized at all times.
   (D)   At the end of a probationary period, a member may be removed upon a majority vote of the members present with a minimum of 12 present.
