§ 130.002 ASSAULT OF A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER.
   A person commits the offense of assault of a law enforcement officer if:
   (A)   He or she attempts to cause or recklessly causes physical injury to a law enforcement officer;
   (B)   With criminal negligence, he or she causes physical injury to a law enforcement officer by means of a deadly weapon;
   (C)   He or she purposely places a law enforcement officer in apprehension of immediate physical injury;
   (D)   He or she recklessly engages in conduct which creates a grave risk of death or serious physical injury to a law enforcement officer; or
   (E)   He or she knowingly causes or attempts to cause physical contact with a law enforcement officer without the consent of the law enforcement officer.
