§ 51.029 FUTURE EXTENSIONS.
   In the event it is necessary to extend the public water system for future development or service, the owner or owners of property to be served shall petition the Board of Aldermen for said extension to be made. Upon approval of said future extension, the owner or owners involved shall have plans and specifications prepared by a professional engineer duly registered in the state; shall obtain all necessary permits and easements for said extension; and shall cause said extension to be constructed in compliance with all laws, rules, and regulations. The cost of said extension shall be entirely borne by owners. After said extension is completed and approved by the city, the extension shall be dedicated to the city as a public water main and shall be the responsibility of the city to maintain said extension as of that time.
