Local delivery trucks in traveling to a point of destination or delivery in the town; in leaving a point of origin or terminal in the town for a point of destination in the town; or in traveling between points, either for a delivery or a pick up of cargo, goods, wares, merchandise or commodities or schedule stops in the regular course of business within the town, may travel over, and must travel over, the shortest route on any street or highway to or from a through street as now listed in Chapter 78, Schedule VI, and must use a through street as listed in Chapter 78, Schedule VI, by the shortest route to or from a through truck route, unless otherwise prohibited.
