§ 70.020 AUTHORITY OF POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT OFFICIALS.
   (A)   The Town Marshal and deputies, or such deputies as are assigned by the Town Marshal, are hereby authorized to direct all traffic by voice, hand or signal in conformance with traffic laws, provided that, in the event of a fire or other emergency or to expedite traffic or safeguard pedestrians, the Town Marshal and deputies may direct traffic as conditions may require, notwithstanding the provisions of the traffic laws.
   (B)   Fire persons of the Fire Department, when at the scene of an emergency, may direct traffic in the immediate vicinity of an emergency or fire equipment at the request of Marshal/Deputy, or until police advise to relinquish the scene to them.
   (C)   School crossing guards are authorized to direct traffic at a designated school crossing during period of arrival or departure of school children.
