§ 33.22 FIREFIGHTERS; REQUIREMENTS; LOSS OF POSITION.
   (A)   The Fire Chief, the Deputy Fire Chief, the Fire Marshal, and all firefighters and probationary firefighters shall be not less than 18 years of age and able-bodied. Probationary firefighters shall become full firefighters only after successful completion of a 12-month probationary period. The Council may require that each applicant for a firefighter position, before becoming a probationary firefighter, must satisfy certain minimum qualifications which may be specified by the Council, and that the applicant must pass a physical examination.

   (B)   Firefighters not meeting Department standards for attending drills, calls, or other standards established by the Council, shall be subject to termination of their position, unless those absences have been excused by the Fire Chief.
