There is established in the city a Fire Department, which shall have the primary purpose of preventing and suppressing fires within the city to protect and preserve lives and property. The head of this Department is the Fire Chief who shall be appointed by the City Council and be under the general direction of the Administrator-Clerk-Treasurer. The firefighters of the Department are governed by this subchapter, the City of Osseo Personnel Policy and Department policies and directives. The Department consists of a Fire Chief, an Assistant Fire Chief, a Fire Marshal, other officers and sufficient firefighters to meet the needs of the city.
