(A) Requirements.
(1) All commercial buildings and residential buildings located within the city shall have a street number.
(2) The number shall be located upon the side of each building which faces the adjacent street. The number shall be visible and capable of being identified and read from the adjacent street.
(3) All numbers shall be a minimum of 4 inches tall but not more than 6 inches.
(4) Numbers shall be in contrast to the part of the building where placed.
(5) Any building which is located upon a corner lot shall have only 1 number.
(B) Number assignment. All numbers shall be assigned by the City Clerk/Treasurer.
(C) Enforcement.
(1) This section shall be enforced by the Police Chief.
(2) Upon a finding of a violation of this chapter the Police Chief shall serve upon the owner of the building a notice of the violation.
(3) The notice given pursuant to this division shall include the following:
(a) That the owner is in violation of this chapter;
(b) A copy of the chapter; and
(c) That the owner has 30 days in which to comply with the provisions of this chapter.
(D) Non-compliance. If after 30 days of the notice given pursuant to division (C) above, the building continues to be in non-conformance with the chapter the matter may be prosecuted by the City Attorney.
