§ 70.38 REPORTING OF ACCIDENTS.
   Every driver of a vehicle involved in any type of accident with a pedestrian, other vehicle or fixed object shall remain at the scene of the accident until permitted to leave by a police officer, except that this shall not prevent the driver from leaving the scene to summon police or to provide medical aid or treatment for an injured person provided that he or she return to the scene forthwith.
