(A) Private septic system. This section is written to set up rules when abandoning a private septic system and hooking up to a city sanitary sewer system:
(1) Remove all liquid and settled solids therein;
(2) Disconnect septic system from residence;
(3) Fill the septic tank with sand and replace cover to seal; and
(4) At no time shall a city sanitary sewer line or service be tied into or through any private septic tanks.
(B) Record of abandonment. A record of abandonment shall be filed with the City Clerk/Treasurer showing date and statement indicating division (A) above rules were followed.
