For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
BUILDING DRAIN. That part of the lowest horizontal piping of a building drainage system which receives the discharge from soil, waste and other drainage pipes inside the walls of any building and conveys the same to the building sewer.
CODE ADOPTED. The 1977 edition of the Minnesota Individual Sewage Treatment Systems Standards (6 M.C.A.R. § 4.8040) recommended by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is hereby adopted by reference and made a part of this subchapter as if fully set forth herein. Before publication of this code or ordinances the Clerk/Treasurer shall mark at least 1 copy of the Pollution Control Agency Code as an official copy and file it in his or her office for use and examination.
INDIVIDUAL SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM.
(1) A sewage disposal system, other than a public or community system, which receives sewage from an individual establishment.
(2) Unless otherwise indicated, the word
SYSTEM as it appears in this subchapter means INDIVIDUAL SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM.
SEWAGE.
(1) Any water-carried domestic waste, exclusive of footing and roof drainage, of any residence, industry or commercial establishment, whether treated or untreated, and includes the liquid wastes produced by bathing, laundry and culinary operations, and from toilets and floor drains.
(2) RAW SEWAGE is sewage which has not been subjected to any treatment process.
