250.01   COMPENSATION GENERALLY.
   (a)   Salaried Managers/Superintendents/Supervisors.
      (1)   The Village Manager shall be paid the salary as stated in the Agreement between the Manager and Council. He or she shall not be paid additional compensation for overtime or holidays; but shall be paid vacation and sick leave according to the Village Employee Policy Ordinance and/or per Agreement.
      (2)   The Village Clerk-Treasurer-Tax Administrator shall be paid within the salary range stated in Exhibit A attached to Ordinance 18-03-02 and incorporated herein; shall not be paid additional compensation for overtime or holidays; but shall be paid vacation and sick leave according to the Village Employee Policy Ordinance.
      (3)   The Chief of Police shall be paid within the salary range stated in Exhibit A attached to Ordinance 18-03-02 and incorporated herein; shall not be paid additional compensation for overtime or holidays; but shall be paid vacation and sick leave according to the Village Employee Policy Ordinance.
      (4)   The Superintendent of the Water and Sewer Department shall be paid within the salary range stated in Exhibit A attached to Ordinance 18-03-02 and incorporated herein; shall not be paid additional compensation for overtime or holidays; but shall be paid vacation and sick leave according to the Village Employee Policy Ordinance.
   (b)   Full-time Hourly Positions. All hourly employees in all departments not described as salaried positions above, are entitled to wages per hour within the range for their job positions/titles as stated in Exhibit B attached to Ordinance 18-03-02. Such individuals are entitled to overtime compensation at a rate of one and one-half their hourly wage for hours above 40 hours or such time may be taken as compensatory time; shall not be paid additional compensation for overtime or holidays; but shall be paid vacation and sick leave according to the Village Employee Policy Ordinance.
   (c)   Part-time Hourly Positions.  All part-time hourly employees in all departments not described as salaried positions above are entitled to wages per hour within the range for their job positions/titles as stated in Exhibit B attached in Ordinance 18-03-02. In accordance with Ordinance 13-07-04 part-time employees who have worked a minimum of 1040 hours in a previous year are also eligible for vacation on a prorated basis as computed as of January 1 each year. Such individuals are not eligible for any other form of personal time or sick time. Part-time individuals who have not worked over 1040 hours are not eligible for any vacation time, personal time or sick time. Volunteer, part-time firefighters are not eligible for any vacation time, personal time or sick time.
   (d)   All new appointments made under Ohio R.C. 737.15 and 737.16, Chief, Captain, Lieutenant, Sergeant and Officers of Police, shall serve a probationary period of one years' continuous service, and all internal promotions shall be for a probationary period of six months continuous service, and none shall be finally made until the appointee has satisfactorily served his or her probationary period. At the end of the probationary period the Police Chief shall make his or her recommendation thereon and he or she may, with concurrence of the Village Manager, remove, extend probation, or finally appoint the employee.
   (e)   All other appointments and/or hearing of employees subject to this section shall be for a probationary period of 90 days continuous service, and none shall be finally made until the appointee and/or hiree has satisfactorily served his or her probationary period. At the end of the probationary period the appointee and/or hiree's responsible administrator shall transmit to the Village Manager his or her recommendation for final appointment, extension of the probationary period or removal of the employee from employment. A wage increase may occur upon completion of the probationary period and would be subject to recommendation by the supervisor/Department Director and the Village Manager.
