727.01 AUTHORITY TO INSTALL ALARMS.
   (a)   Any premise located within the City of Orrville may be equipped with an emergency alarm for the purpose of detecting and signaling the presence of a holdup, unauthorized intrusion, fire, medical emergency, or other function upon compliance with this chapter. Existing installations, whether residential or otherwise, shall be subject to the requirements of this chapter, including those requirements pertaining to permits.
   (b)   No person shall install any alarm referred to in this chapter without first submitting an application for and obtaining a permit therefore from the City, and no owner and/or tenant of a place shall suffer or allow such installation unless a permit has been obtained as provided herein. Such permit shall be issued free of charge provided that an application has been completed detailing the following:
      (1)   The name, address, and telephone number of the alarm company.
      (2)   The name, address, and telephone number of the premise where the device is installed.
      (3)   The name, address, and telephone number(s) of any other person or firm who is authorized to respond to an emergency and gain access to the address where the device is installed.
      (4)   The name and telephone number of any other person or supplier, who is responsible for maintenance and repair of the system.
      (5)   The type of system, i.e., holdup, burglary, fire, medical alert, or emergency.
      (6)   A copy of the State of Ohio certification to install such alarms (when applicable).
   (c)   Users of alarm system devices whose devices are installed prior to the effective date of this ordinance shall, within sixty days after such enactment, supply the Orrville Police Department with the information specified in subsections (b)(1) through (5).
   (d)   All information furnished pursuant to this section shall be kept confidential and shall be for the authorized use of the Orrville Police and Fire Departments or their authorized agent. This information shall not be released to any other commercial or for profit organization.
