Any person convicted of driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated or under the influence of intoxicating liquor or narcotic drug shall be fined in the amount of three hundred dollars ($300.00) and may also be confined in the City jail for not more than thirty (30) days; provided, that upon conviction, said person shall also surrender his driver's license to the court.
