8-2-19: INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF SEWER SERVICE LINE:
When a permit for a sewer service line (side sewer) has been granted, the sewer tap at the sewer main will be furnished and installed by the City. All excavation, fill material, compacting, pavement repair, piping, and materials to and including exposing the sewer main is at the expense of the person or firm desiring sewer service. The size and slope of the service line shall be subject to approval of the Superintendent, but in no event shall the diameter be less than four inches (4"). The slopes of such four inch (4") service line shall be not less than one-eighth inch (1/8") per foot, except when specifically otherwise approved by the Superintendent. Whenever two (2) or more residences discharge into a sewer, diameter of service sewer shall not be less than six inches (6"). The materials and installation shall be subject to inspection and approval by the Superintendent. All sewer service lines (side sewers) in any new subdivisions may be installed as part of the construction of the new sewer collection system within said subdivision when, in the opinion of the Superintendent, it is in the City's best interests to have or allow said sewer service lines to be installed.
