The mayor is authorized and empowered to sign his name officially for and in behalf of the city on all contracts, documents and papers to which the city is a party, and to require that the conditions in any instrument are faithfully performed. He may borrow money on the credit of the city when so authorized by the council. (Ord. 724, 4-11-2005)
