Upon taking a person under seventeen (17) years of age into custody, the police officer shall immediately communicate with the parent, legal guardian, or custodian of that person. The Juvenile Officer shall cause a written notice to be served on the parent, guardian, or other custodian of a person less than seventeen (17) years of age who has been taken into custody by the police department, advising the parent, guardian or custodian of the circumstances of the detention.
