The provisions of Section 5/10-2.1-17 of the Illinois Municipal Code, 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-17, which limit the power and authority of the Chief of Police to suspension periods of five (5) days, are hereby amended and deemed superseded by this Code, which hereby grants to the Orland Park Chief of Police the authority and power to suspend officers and sworn members of the police department for a period up to and including thirty (30) days in duration, without pay.
