8-1-6-3: PATROL OFFICER; DUTIES:
   A patrol officer shall when on duty devote full time and attention to the discharge of the duties prescribed in the laws of the State of Illinois, in this Chapter and all other ordinances of the Village, and shall obey the provisions of this Chapter relating to the conduct of patrol officers and the rules and regulations of the Police Department. It shall be the duty of the patrol officer to preserve the peace and secure good order, safety and cleanliness within the Village, protect the rights of persons and of property and to that end to enforce all laws of the State of Illinois and all ordinances of the Village and the orders of the Police Committee. He or she shall discharge the lawful orders given by the Chief of Police, and supervising officers to carry out the duties imposed on said person by this Chapter and any other ordinances of the Village or laws of the State of Illinois.
