Subsequent to receipt of an application for a license where ordinances of the Village necessitate an inspection or investigation before the issuance of such permit or license, the Development Services Department shall refer such application to the proper officer or employee for making such investigation. The officer or employee charged with the duty of making the investigation or inspection shall make a report thereon to the Development Services Department - favorable or otherwise.
The Director of the Development Services Department shall make or cause to be made an inspection in connection with the care and handling of food and all other matters relating to sanitary conditions, including but not limited to restaurants. The said Director shall make or cause to be made any such inspections relative to the construction and safety of buildings or other structures. All other investigations, except where otherwise provided, shall be made by the Chief of Police or by some other officer or employee designated by the Village Manager.
In every case there shall be at least an inspection of the applicant's commercial premises by the Director of the Development Services Department or his designee, for the purposes described in the preceding paragraph, unless as otherwise provided.
