Noise levels shall be measured in terms of the sound pressure level in octave-frequency bands using equipment which meets the requirements established by this Chapter. Impulsive type noises shall be subject to the performance standards hereinafter prescribed, provided that equipment suitable for such noise measurement, as defined by this Chapter, is used. Noises such as those of an irregular and intermittent nature shall be restricted as provided for hereinafter.
