1. It shall be the duty of the Village Fire Safety Inspector to enforce the provisions of the Building Code, (including the Electrical Code and Plumbing Code), ordinances and regulations of the Village which relate to fire safety requirements and regulations.
2. The Village Fire Safety Inspector shall work under the direction of the Director of the Building Department in the performance of his duties.
3. He shall make all inspections and investigations as may be deemed necessary for such enforcement and shall establish procedures therefor.
4. He shall examine the construction plans of all proposed buildings or structures within the Village for the purpose of determining compliance with the provisions of all applicable Village codes, ordinances and regulations relating to fire safety requirements and regulations.
5. As may be necessary from time to time, he shall work with and cooperate with the Orland Fire Protection District to assure proper enforcement of fire safety requirements within the Village.
6. It shall not be the responsibility of the Village Fire Safety Inspector, nor shall he have the authority, to fight fires or to investigate the cause of any fire within the Village, or to take any actions which would conflict with the functions, powers, duties and jurisdiction of the State Fire Marshall.
