For the purpose of this chapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
DISH. That part of a satellite or microwave signal receiving antenna characteristically shaped like a saucer or dish or part thereof.
DISH-TYPE SATELLITE AND DISH-TYPE MICROWAVE SIGNAL-RECEIVING ANTENNAS. Also referred to as EARTH STATIONS or GROUND STATIONS or WIRELESS CABLE or WIRELESS BEAM shall mean one, or a combination or two or more for the following:
(1) A signal-receiving device (antenna, dish antenna, or dish-type antenna), the purpose of which is to receive communication or other signals from satellites in the earth's orbit or other extraterrestrial sources or microwave wireless beam.
(2) A low-noise amplifier (LNA) which is situated at the focal point of the receiving component and the purpose of which is to magnify, store, transfer, or transmit electronic or light signals.
(3) A coaxial cable the purpose of which is to carry or transmit said signals to a receiver.
GROUND ROD. A metal pole permanently positioned in the earth to serve as an electronic conductor through which electrical current may safely pass and dissipate.
LINE OF SIGHT. The protected visual alignment of the ground station to the satellite.
RECEIVER. A television set, monitor or radio receiver.
