§ 150.186 EMERGENCY WINDOWS.
   (A)   Bedrooms.
      (1)   Every bedroom or every room intended as a sleeping area shall have at least one window with a net clear opening of 5.7 square feet. The minimum width shall be no less than 20 inches and the minimum height shall be no less than 24 inches. Where windows are provided for a means of egress they shall be installed with a sill height of no more than 44 inches above the finished floor.
      (2)   Exception.
         (a)   Where a door leading directly outside is installed in the room.
         (b)   Grade floor windows may have a net clear opening of five square feet.
   (B)   Basements.
      (1)   Every basement is required to have an emergency escape window. If the basement is separated by z partition or if walls are constructed then each space, not including washrooms closets or utility rooms, shall be required to have an emergency escape window.
      (2)   Each required window shall have a minimum clear width of 24 inches and a minimum height of 30 inches. Where windows are provided for a means of egress they shall be installed with a sill height of not more than 44 inches above the finished floor.
      (3)   Exception. Where a door from the space leading directly outside is available then such window will not be required.
