For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
AREA, OR SQUARE FOOTAGE.
The gross horizontal areas of each floor of the building and all exterior, above ground, storage (not parking) and display areas and accessory structures. Where there are multiple tenants, these secondary spaces shall be defined as that area leased or rented by the tenant.
COMMERCIAL AND BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENT.
Any for-profit business, including but not limited to: food service, retail, wholesale, manufacturing, service, sales offices, and model homes. Governmental (including political campaign headquarters), not-for-profit, religious, home occupations, educational, public recreational or other similar uses will not be licensed.
CONTAINER.
Any container, box, crate or vessel used for the storage of merchandise (new or used), used for the storage of waste or used for the storage of other goods or materials.
CONTAINER SIZE.
The approximate volume of the container determined by the measurements of the top length, top width and height (length x width x height) of the container.
GENERAL CONTRACTOR.
The supervising contractor and/or the construction manager.
LANDLORD.
Any person who is engaged in the business of renting land, buildings, or any portion of a building or dwelling unit(s).
SUBCONTRACTOR.
Someone other than the general contractor or a contractor specializing in a certain area of construction.
