§ 91.38 IMPOUNDMENT OF DOGS.
   (A)   Any dog found in the village running at large in violation of this chapter is hereby declared to be a nuisance and shall be impounded by the Police Department as herein provided.
   (B)   The owner of any dog impounded hereunder may redeem the same by paying all the costs, fees, and penalties assessed, if any, that have accrued up to the time of making the redemption. When the same are paid to the Police Department the dog shall be released and delivered to the owner thereof, upon proper evidence of ownership and upon exhibiting a current, duly issued license tag for such dog or a receipt for the payment of fees for such license tag.
   (C)   Immediately after impounding any dog hereunder, it shall be the duty of the Police Department to enter upon the record of the pound in a book to be kept by him for such purpose the date of impounding, a description of the animal impounded, and tagged as required by this chapter.
   (D)   It shall be the duty of the Police Department to cause notice to be served by mail upon the registered owner of any licensed dog impounded under the provisions of this section, such notice to be mailed at least two days prior to the posting of the notice of impounding hereinbefore provided.
   (E)   A fee of $15 to offset the cost of picking up the dog will be assessed.
