§ 35.019 PROBATIONARY PERIOD; NEW EMPLOYEES.
   (A)   All full-time and part-time employees must undergo a probationary period at the beginning of their employment. This period will be one year for police officers and all other full and part-time employees. This period will be used to assist new personnel in adjusting to his/her position, as well as to judge the employee's performance in his/her new role.
   (B)   During or at the completion of the probationary period, the employee's performance shall be reviewed as discussed in the performance review section.
   (C)   If at any time during the probationary period, the supervisor or department head, with the concurrence of the Administrator, determines that the service of the employee has been unsatisfactory, the employee may be separated from service without the right to appeal.
   (D)   During or at the end of the probationary period, the employee may be dismissed at any time by the department head with the approval of the Village Administrator, and shall not be entitled to the remedies set forth in these rules. Temporary employees can be dismissed at any time by the department head with the approval of the Village Administrator. Probationary periods may be extended with the approval of the department head and the Village Administrator one time for a period not to exceed one year.
