§ 35.015 RECRUITMENT.
   (A)   Anyone interested in employment with the village may fill out an application at Village Hall. Applications will be kept on file for a period of one year from the date of filing. Depending on the job opening and the situation, employment announcements may be posted on bulletin boards in village offices. Additional announcements in papers, professional journals, college recruitment offices and other sources may be utilized for some positions. Qualified on-file applications, as well as applications received after vacancy announcement but before the posted deadline, shall be reviewed.
   (B)   No person shall be hired by the village if that person is related, as defined in this section, to an elected official of the village, currently in office. A RELATIVE is defined as any of the following: spouse, brother, sister, mother, father, grandparent, legal guardian, ward, grandchild, child, cousin, niece, nephew, aunt, or uncle.
   (C)   No person shall be hired by the village nor shall any contractor to the village have any person perform any work on behalf of the village pursuant to a contract with the village until such time as the employee, contractor or service personnel have undergone a criminal background check. No person shall be hired by the village nor shall any contractor to the village allow any personnel to perform any service if that employee or individual has been convicted of a felony of any nature or a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude.
