175.24 DEATH BENEFIT PAYMENT.
   (a)    Effective January 1, 1985, a death benefit in the amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) shall be paid to the designated beneficiary of a regular full-time employee of the City upon death, providing such death occurs after the employee has completed the probationary period.
   (b)    Nothing contained in paragraph (a) of this section shall be construed to authorize the cancellation of any death benefit previously authorized prior to January 1, 1985.
   (c)    Each employee should furnish the City with a designation of beneficiary. In the event the employee shall be paid in accordance with the inheritance laws of the State of Ohio. The City will provide a certificate of insurance to each employee.
