175.01 PERMANENT AND REGULAR EMPLOYEE DEFINED.
   "Permanent employee" and "regular employee" as used in Section 7 (b) of Article VII of the City Charter and as used in these Codified Ordinances, unless otherwise defined in a particular chapter or section means and refers to and is hereby interpreted to mean and refer to persons duly appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by Council to jobs or positions created or established by Charter or by ordinance or resolution pursuant to the Charter for which a salary or rate of pay has been fixed by Council, which jobs are of a regular, permanent and continuing nature in the operation of the City as distinguished from jobs or positions of temporary, provisional, seasonal nature or which are employed on an on-call or as-needed basis. Permanent or regular employees may be either full-time or part-time. The Mayor, members of Council, members of boards and commissions of the City, employees of the Recreation Department and the Department of Law, part-time fire fighters and part-time inspectors in the Division of Inspection are not regular or permanent employees of the City for the purposes of this chapter.
