Rule 33. If a consumer does not order water shut off and the meter removed when not in use, the minimum rate will be charged until proper notice is given to the Division of Water and Wastewater Treatment office. If the property is unoccupied for more than one month in succession, the minimum charge will be prorated, and adjustment made by the Division provided notice is given and application made for the same; but in no case will a rebate be allowed on water service for less than a period of one month, and then only when notice is given the Division that the building is vacant. No rebate will be allowed unless an employee of the Division turns off the water when notice of vacancy is given.
When a building is again occupied, water will be turned on upon application for service at the Division office, at no extra charge beyond the payment of the regular advance minimum fee which will be computed for the remainder of the current quarter. The Commissioner of Water and Wastewater Treatment is authorized to adjust water bills if it is proven there is unknown leakage and property owner was not notified.
