537.23 ABUSING A POLICEMAN OR FIREMAN.
   (a)    No person shall:
      (1)    Physically abuse;
      (2)    Resist or hinder; or
      (3)    Orally abuse
   any policeman or fireman while in the execution of the duties of his office
 
   (b)    A person shall be deemed to have orally abused a policeman or fireman by calling him names tending to degrade him or hold him up to ridicule.
 
   (c)    (1)    Whoever violates subsection (a)(1) hereof is guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree. At least seventy-two consecutive hours imprisonment is mandatory under this subsection (c)(1).
      (2)    Whoever violates subsection (a)(2) hereof if guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
      (3)    Whoever violates subsection (a)(3) hereof is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
