(A) Office created. There is hereby created the office of Superintendent of Water, an executive office of the village. The Superintendent shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees for a term of one year.

(B) Utility systems. The Superintendent shall have charge of the operation and maintenance of the municipal water distribution systems as provided in Ch. 52 of this code of ordinances.

(C) Department employees. All officers or employees assigned to the Department shall perform their duties subject to the orders and under the supervision of the Superintendent.

(D) Property custodian. The Superintendent shall be the custodian of all property of the village which is not assigned to the care or custody of any other officer.
